COVID-19 Resources

The global COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge unlike any other in our lifetimes.

The faculty, trainees, and staff of the IRM are responding to this challenge by following proper social distancing guidelines, connecting virtually, and pursing critical research to combat this disease. Read below for more information about our response. For University updates, please visit the Penn Coronavirus page.

Events

Consistent with University of Pennsylvania guidance, all in-person IRM events are currently suspended. However, we continue to provide the same great opportunities to connect and learn from each other online. IRM Stem Cell Club and Faculty Lunch will continue on their normal schedules through the rest of the academic year. In addition, we are hosting a number of “Socially Distanced Seminars,” special events focused on science skills development. All of our events can be viewed on our calendar.

Outreach

The IRM is suspending all in-person outreach activities until further notice. But we haven’t forgotten about our teachers and students! Please join us for IRM@Home every Tuesday at 10 AM to hear scientists talk about their research and STEM career paths. More information available on our IRM@Home page.

Research

IRM-affiliated laboratories will operate consistent with University policy and any specific guidance provided by individual Schools. While many people are working from home, the IRM is supporting researchers working to answer critical questions about COVID-19 and the virus that causes it, SARS-CoV-2.
